any ideas how to Speed Up Computer?

it takes forever to start up,also trouble logging on to the internet have to do a system restore nearly every time.

1. For faster start-up, open msconfig (Start > Run > type msconfig), choose Startup, uncheck the programs you don’t need to be running right away when you’re just opening your pc (e.g. I’ve unchecked Quicktime, Real Player). You may also want to program your anti-virus so that it does its thing (check your drives and update itself online) while you’re out having lunch so it doesn’t interfere with whatever else you’re doing.

2. Clean up using Disk Cleanup (right-click C drive, choose properties, click Disk Cleanup).

3. Defrag (see #2).

4. Use anti-spyware to get rid of unwanted, pc-slowing ads, pop-ups, etc. (www.lavasoft.com).

5. Uninstall programs you don’t need.

6. Install only “lite” programs, if possible (e.g. why use a 1 MB text editor that takes forever to open when you can use Notepad).
